Introduction: This training course includes Monitoring and Evaluation Concepts, Tools and Strategies for Social Sector Programmes. The training material covered will assist in building monitoring and evaluation capacity in the social sector, through the exposure of participants to modules of training and the transfer of knowledge by these persons to others in their peers and colleagues.
Training Contents:
- Module 1: Defining the Concepts of Monitoring and Evaluation
- Module 2: Programme Planning and Design
- Module 3: Planning a Useful Evaluation
- Module 4: Evaluation Design
- Module 5: Data Collection and Analysis
Training Methodology:
With respect to the didactical approach adopted, the trainer will divide the class of participants into small groups that will work together to put into practice the steps of Monitoring & Evaluation.
Objectives of the Training: Following are specific objectives of this training:
- A good understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) concepts, tools and strategies.
- Basic knowledge about programme design, especially how to define SMART objectives and how to identify indicators that are appropriate.
- Understanding of data collection methods, data analysis and preparation of final evaluation reports.
- The use of evaluation findings to foster organisational learning, transparency and accountability. .
